10 Ups & 12 Downs For WWE In 2020 (So Far)

2. Comeback Kings

This is a nod to Randy Orton and Edge, both of whom have mounted incredible comebacks in 2020. For Edge, this meant his pulse-stopping Royal Rumble spot, the outstanding injury angle that followed on Raw, and a tremendous build to his match with Orton at WrestleMania 36. That Last Man Standing affair split opinion, but that's the only downer here. For the most part, Edge has been excellent, particularly in his straight-down-the-lens promo work, where he shines as an intense, burning personality.

Orton hasn't spent significant time away from the ring. His is a different kind of "comeback." 'The Viper' is on fire in 2020, rediscovering the kind of heel form he hasn't consistently shown in years, returning to the vicious, psychotic 'Legend Killer' of old to deliver some of his most dangerous, threatening work. The guy looks unstoppable at the moment. Operating in his character's most compelling form, he is knocking it out of the park every single week.

Injury will keep Edge away from our screens for months now, though they'll likely clash again once 'The Rated R Superstar' returns.
