10 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Apr 8)
6. Thanks For Coming
The problem with Brodie Lee's squashes is that they're always going to look tame compared to Lance Archer's. 'The Murderhawk Monster' is just the absolute best at putting overmatched goobers away in quick, dominant fashion, and indie wrestler Alan Angels was the latest to fall by his hand last night.
While not as joyous as last week's mauling of Marko Stunt, this was still a riot. Angel got laughed at when he mounted pitiful slithers of offence. He was bludgeoned with strikes, lobbed all over the place, then chucked overhead with an insane Chokeslam/suplex/thing that looked incredible. The Blackout put him away seconds later.
Everything about Lance Archer is hitting the spot right now, from the music to the demeanour to the offense itself. He is, at minimum, a top-three working big man in wrestling today, and someone who stands to make AEW a lot of money going forward.
