10 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Jun 24)

7. Big Beefy Boys

Wardlow and Luchasaurus' lumberjack match was supposed to go down months ago. AEW had even booked it for an episode of Dynamite before the global health crisis kicked in, forcing them to change gears. Teases of the violence to come have continued ever since and now, finally, the bout is in the books - and it was great fun.

These two big beefy boys commenced with the beef-slapping from the very first bell. Big boy striking eventually gave way to athleticism, as the duo are amongst the most agile monsters in the business, and Wardlow looked extremely impressive as he lobbed the 275lb Jurassic Express man around with relative eases. Those release suplexes were awesome.

Things spilled outside. Luchasaurus and Wardlow brawled on the stage, with multiple lumberjacks getting thrown onto the gathered mass of humanity below. Wardlow eventually fell himself after eating a roundhouse kick, though he survived, taking advantage when MJF got on the apron and ate a Jungle Boy spear, but attracted Luchasaurus' attention long enough for Wardlow to hit the F10 and get the win.

A post-match brawl gave us Wardlow and MJF vs. Luchasaurus at Jungle Boy, which keeps things bubbling away nicely. This was an easy, effective watch.
