10 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Revolution

9. Real Sport Feel

AEW Tale of the Tape
AEW

AEW's decision to throw up UFC-style Tale of the Tape screens before each match was a small touch but an effective one, making Revolution feel like a more legitimate across the board.

The company's purported "real sport feel" has taken a pounding from earnest, fair critics and bad faith actors alike. This was a great example of it working. Not only did the graphics feature all the relevant info but these brief windows allowed the announcers to analyse the upcoming bouts and give their takes on what was about to go down, adding another layer of believability. Good, solid stuff, and the kind of neat enhancement that helps frame these bouts as sporting encounters.

Let's hope AEW keeps doing this for all pay-per-views going forward.
