10 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Revolution

8. Those Aesthetics

Wrestling is an aesthetic business as much as anything else and AEW nailed this department last night, with Revolution looking beautiful.

The set was tremendous. Yes, there was a touch of the WWE about the massive video screens on the stage and ramp but that's fine, because WWE's sets absolutely rule. The promotion's willingness to make their big shows look and feel different from their rank-and-file weeklies is a big plus point and while simple, Revolution's set looked lovely.

We were also treated to a great introduction video bringing us through an "alternative reality" before running through the key matches and stories, and fans were given light-up wristbands that changed colour depending on what was going on. When Nyla Rose came out, they were red; during the show's intro, theY flashed green. Piercing the darkness, this looked awesome.
