10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling Bound For Glory 2019
4. Continuing History
Unless something drastic happens on an upcoming episode of Impact Wrestling, Taya Valkyrie will make it to a full year as the Knockouts Champion. She won the title on 6 January at the Homecoming pay-per-view, and has continued her history-making title reign with a win over Tenille Dashwood.
John E. Bravo was surprising here at ringside, as he didn't actually get involved properly until the end, placing Taya's leg underneath the ropes after she had been hit with the Spotlight. With all the commotion surrounding this, Tenille was able to snatch a chain that Taya was planning to use, and launched it on to the ramp. A missed attempt at a second Spotlight was enough for Taya to hit the Road to Valhalla, remaining the champion as a result.
Coming into Bound For Glory, it felt as if both the Knockouts Championship and the World Tag Team Championships would be staying exactly where they are. In terms of the former, Tenille Dashwood has only been on a pay-per-appearance deal with Impact, so it wouldn't have made much sense to place the title on her without having her signed down to a full-time deal.
Now, the question remains whether or not Taya will make it to the full 365 days as champ.
