10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jun 30)
5. Keep Your Enemies Closer
The North have dominated the tag team division in Impact for a full year now, with Ethan Page and Josh Alexander constantly throwing back all-comers in order to become recognised as one of the best teams in the company's entire history. However, they now find themselves with quite the challenge waiting for them at Slammiversary, as rivals Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan will unite to challenge for the doubles straps.
This comes off the back of 'All Ego' and 'The Walking Weapon' laying Shamrock out last week, with the Hall of Famer now confronting them this week, being mysteriously joined by 'The Draw' in his quest for tag team gold. By the looks of things, the duo still aren't quite on the same page, with some animosity shown between them just before Callihan disappeared from the ring, but they're still going to be The North's biggest challenge to date regardless.
When two traditionally singles wrestlers come together, it can often be hit or miss with regards to how well the pairing succeeds or fails. One of the best modern examples of a mismatched pair being a mammoth success is, of course, Team Hell No. Like Shamrock and Callihan, Kane and Daniel Bryan came together after a relatively short rivalry, but they still managed to capture the WWE Tag Team Championships, and held them for a good chunk of time.
The World's Most Dangerous Men™ could very well be the ones to end the record-breaking title reign on 18 July.
