10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Mar 3)

Downs...

2. Shot Called (Prematurely)

The best of five series between Eddie Edwards and Michael Elgin has been excellent. The World Championship reign of Tessa Blanchard has been history-making. Combine the two things, and you've got yourselves something quite special. What shouldn't be happening though is two babyfaces being so casual with each other when there's the possibility of having the company's biggest championship up for grabs in a pay-per-view main event.

Tessa was talking to Gabby Loren (who's somehow still employed) about her match with Taya Valkyrie later in the night, explaining how the Tessa Blanchard who Taya defeated to win the Knockouts Championship was a completely different Tessa to what we see today. That alone would've been an easy Up. When Eddie Edwards entered, Call Your Shot trophy in hand, to tell Tessa of his intentions to challenge her for the title at Rebellion, things just fell flat.

It's not even the fact that there's the potential for the match to not even happen, depending on who wins the final match between Elgin and Edwards. No matter who 'The Undeniable One' defends against, it'll be a surefire great match. It's the fact that Tessa and Eddie just had no animosity between each other whatsoever. Yes, they're friends, but at least a bit of tension would've been nice since this involves the World Championship.
