10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Mar 3)

1. If It Works...

In order for Roman Reigns to earn the right to challenge Goldberg for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36, all he had to do was confront the new champion, and proclaim himself as the next challenger. By the looks of things, that's the new trend in professional wrestling.

Madison Rayne was backstage with a bunch of, well let's just call them what they were, nobodies, as part of her Golden Opportunity Open Challenge to find a suitable challenger for Knockouts Champion, Jordynne Grace. Firstly, didn't 'Thicc Mama Pump' put herself out there as a fighting champion? She would face them all, so there was literally no need for this from 'The Queen Bee'. Secondly, one of the ladies (the toughest looking one from the pack) confronted Kiera Hogan as Hogan attempted to intervene. Just like that, she appears to be booked.

If it's really this simple, then the role of on-screen authority figures will never be needed in wrestling again. The worst part is we have literally no clue who this newbie is, and if it will actually lead to anything proper. If it does, we'll judge it from there. If she's gone by the next episode, then this was beyond pointless.
