10 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Jun 17)

Downs...

3. That '90s Show

Allie AEW
AEW

Why is Allie a "Jezebel"?

Is it because she's an attractive blonde woman with big t*ts, and thus automatically a bad person? Erections, suspicions: she's exclusively a form of arousal for Jim Ross.

It's a regressive portrayal that might yet be subverted - AEW has a tremendous knack of retroactively improving a puzzling story beat by orders of magnitude - but this is the same company that gave us non-consensual kissing at Revolution to punish a meddling woman. They've not earned that good faith benefit of the doubt with their treatment of women. The commentary team are usually better than this, too. They're smarter.

Can't they at least explicitly recall Allie's affiliation with the Butcher and the Blade to justify what comes off as latent misogyny?

Moreover, and the booking in the Women's division elsewhere was so good that this doesn't warrant that much in the way of complaint, especially since there is more time to build before Fyter Fest: why was Hikaru Shida Vs. Penelope Ford promoted only via match graphic?
