10 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Sept 25)
3. Unknown Pleasures
WWE
NXT has always been succinct and ruthlessly simple, sometimes at the expense of a bit of excitement on the show. It deserves credit for the various tricks it's employed over several years of proffering Sports Entertainment's most robust hour.
The "new stars in the stands" gimmick remains one of their safest quick wins, and cameras cutting to Chelsea Green and Deonna Purrazzo allowed the commentators and talents just long enough to build curiosity without having to remotely craft a story.
This would feel like a bigger issue as the show continued, but was just another case of the show operating at its economical best.
