Now tied and 1-1 in NXT terms following Keith Lee’s somewhat surprising victory, it’s little wonder the black-and-gold brand have crafted a story that requires them to rumble repeatedly for supremacy - it may well be the combination that the “Fight Forever” chant was invented for.

Kicking ten shades of sh*t out of each other whilst simultaneously hiding a few more shades away for future showdowns, Lee and Dijakovic demonstrated why their luxuriously violent chemistry captured the wrestling world’s attention before Triple H took a look. Here, the duo actually benefited from a bit of WWE production.Slowing the pace to the point where they spent the bulk of the match grappling over big moves like giant woodland stags with an All Japan streaking subscription, when the beasts struck, they did so with frightening and furious force.

Lee’s leaping skills were employed early to inform newcomers judging books by covers to read every f*cking word. Dijakovic, perhaps working for an audience of one, served as something of a Cleaner when Lee made a mess with his bullish, headstrong strategy. Splatting his man hard on the apron following another tense struggle around the ropes, Dijakovic left fans with no choice but to feast their eyes on his absurdly athletic high impact offering until big Keith made an even bigger comeback.

The match hit top gear with a top rope Canadian Destroyer, but the parade of kickouts that followed made Lee’s Big Bang Destroyer win a touch unconvincing. The match slapped all the same - a story of big men and their big bombs, that two still have weapons in their arsenal for a rubber match kept their rivalry within the confines of smartly-booked television wrestling.
