10 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (20 May)
3. A Mess
Tenille’s bout vs. Kiera Hogan simply wasn’t good. The main problem is that near enough every time you watch the two compete, it’s the exact same. Dashwood relies on the same flashy manoeuvres to keep herself relevant – the butterfly suplex, the Tarantula, et al – while Hogan has to get in every single one of her strikes.
Tenille avoided a roundhouse kick from ‘The Hottest Flame’ to roll her up for the three, before everyone got involved post-match. Of the current knockouts roster, only Alisha Edwards, Jordynne Grace, and Rachael Ellering didn’t get involved, and they have legitimate reasons to have not been there.
Deonna Purrazzo, Kimber Lee, and Susan joined Kiera and Tasha Steelz in laying the boots to Tenille, Kaleb, and Taylor Wilde – who contradicted herself by making the save – before Havok sent the heels packing by tediously shoving each of them through the ropes. The appearance of Rosemary, alongside Crazzy Steve and Black Taurus, to prevent the Deonna-led squad from escaping was pointless.
Your writer is typically raving about IMPACT’s knockouts division; they have one of the greatest female rosters in pro wrestling today, after all. When the majority of them are involved in the same story arc, however, it becomes just what the headline reads. A mess.
