7. Roman Beats The Odds

Roman Reigns vs. Elias II shouldn't have existed, but at least the execution was on-point.

This was a fun little shenanigan-fuelled battle between an outstanding TV wrestler and an effective stooge heel. Shane McMahon was heavily involved, taunting Roman at every opportunity, leading to the bulk of 'The Drifter's' offence. 'The Big Dog' controlled things for the most part. He succumbed to heel tactics on several occasions but survived each time, and he looked good throughout, hitting his trademark offence with the kind of impact we've come to expect from the former WWE Champion, who played his role in this pantomime perfectly.

Shane put Elias' foot on the ropes following a Superman Punch, leading to Reigns battering McMahon. Elias slammed his opponent into the steps soon after. His diving elbow got a two-count before Shane slid the guitar in, but a Spear and the 1, 2, 3 thwarted the villain.

Reigns going 2-0 over Elias was the correct move. 50/50 booking is the death of stars, so at least WWE got that part right.
