10 Ups & 6 Downs For WWE In 2023 (So Far)

1. Sami Zayn’s Bloodline Exit

Months earlier, Sami Zayn ditched his "Honorary Uce" status by blasting Bloodline leader Roman Reigns in the back with a steel chair. That turn, and the build up to it, was booked to perfection before and during Royal Rumble. Zayn's chair shot has become iconic.

WWE didn't stop there. The promotion handed Sami some keys to the main event kingdom by letting him headline opposite Roman at Elimination Chamber in Montreal, and everybody in attendance believed (even just for a second or two) that Zayn might topple the 'Tribal Chief'.

What a story.

Sami didn't win, and was "demoted" to the tag-team division soon after, but his brief headline push took everyone on a ride. The fact he also got to headline on pay-per-view against the best all-rounder in the business is a huge compliment to Zayn's unlikely Bloodline membership and how over it was with fans.
