10 Ups & 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Feb 19)

6. Ricochet Flies Past Eric Young

As was the case on Monday Night Raw, Ricochet was the NXT transplants who came off strongest on SmackDown, showing flashes of his athletic brilliance in a short bout with Eric Young designed solely to get 'The One And Only' over.

This was Young's first televised match of 2019, and only his third since last September. WWE didn't even give him a proper ring entrance for the occasion; instead, they showed him and his Sanity stablemates making their way during the commercial screen-in-screen. These guys are jobbers. WWE don't give a hoot about them.

Still, Young was an effective loser here. He gave Ricochet a solid, grounded base to work against, sold well, and didn't hog the spotlight. Thus, he took his L like a pro, and his opponent's spectacular bursts won the crowd over.

It'll be interesting to see how a non-talker like Ricochet fares long-term, but WWE are doing right by him at the moment. So far, so good.
