10 Ups & 8 Downs From AEW Fight For The Fallen

4. Lucha Brothers Vs. SCU Recovers The Crowd

Fight For The Fallen came dangerously close to losing the crowd entirely until SoCal Uncensored vs. The Lucha Brothers happened, so thank god it went down the way it did.

Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky's signature pre-match shtick chased with Rey Fenix and Pentagon doing insane, mental sh*t proved the perfect audience-reviving tonic. They were back on the show's side by the time referee Aubrey Edwards failed to catch Penta's glove (forcing a repeat).

The bout succeeded by highlight SCU's charisma and the Lucha Brothers' cocaine style of wrestling. We got posing and posting, chopping and kicking, big dives and big flips. Everything you'd expect from these teams, basically, and it delivered on both an athletic and character-based level, making it yet another success story in AEW's growing tag division.

A particularly close near-fall came when Fenix stomped Kazarian on the outside, allowing Penta to fly from the top rope, nailing Sky with a Destroyer on the way down. Scorp survived that one, but the stomp/Fear Factor combination that followed ended up putting him away.
