10 Ups And 11 Downs From WWE Royal Rumble 2020

5. Wasting Two NXT Guys

You get the feeling that the main roster writers and producers just don’t get it with NXT.

Keith Lee made a great entrance into the Royal Rumble at #13 and immediately went toe-to-toe with Brock Lesnar. For a moment, it looked like he might be the guy to get some shine and take it to the Beast.

Then Braun Strowman entered at #14, and you would think we’d get a three-way battle of the hosses. But instead, Braun and Lee fought on the ropes, and Brock tossed both of them for his final eliminations of the night. LAME.

Later on, Matt Riddle made his Rumble debut, kicked off his flops and attacked Drew McIntyre. Seconds later, everyone’s least favorite troll King Corbin tossed Riddle. Worse, Corbin was unceremoniously bounced a minute later by McIntyre. So what the hell was the point of Corbin eliminating Riddle so quickly if he was going to be sacrificed shortly thereafter.

It’s stuff like that that makes you want guys like Lee and Riddle to stay in NXT rather than be misused on the main roster.
