10 Ups And 12 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 34

1. What The Actual Hell?

Cynical fans and critics have been lamenting the inevitable coronation of Roman Reigns as champion once again, as everything for the past few months has been built around delivering us the ultimate WrestleMania moment: Roman slaying the unbeatable beast Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Universal Championship.

So we got the match, with the build pointing to Roman overcoming the odds and defeating Brock to send him back to the UFC. And then Reigns kicked out of five F-5s to deliver a series of spears… only to walk into a sixth F-5 that put the bloodied Samoan down for the three count.

Did Vince McMahon get cold feet again? Did someone tell him the fans would riot if Reigns won? Did Brock threaten to shoot on Roman?

As much as many have felt that Roman is being shoved down fans’ throats against their will, the thing that pisses us off even more is this stop-and-start push that never ends. Vince decides Roman is the guy, so he beats everyone and is built up to be super-strong. Then he cools on the idea of him being a top guy, but he still has to be kept strong and central to the show. Then he heats up again and runs roughshod again.

Vince, crap or get off the pot with Reigns. Either make him the unbeatable champion at the center of your company or not. But either way, make a decision and stick with it. This incessant back-and-forth makes the animosity even worse.

Now for the ups...
