Sunday’s Intercontinental Championship triple threat match won’t go down rivaling the Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and “Macho Man” Randy Savage classic from WrestleMania III, but it definitely served its purpose as the opening bout of WM 34.

The match between champion The Miz, Finn Bálor and Seth Rollins was fast-paced and high-octane, which is what you want out of an opening contest. You had multiple finisher attempts, broken up by another wrestler, counters, rollups… everything you’d expect.

In the end, it was Rollins hitting curbstomps on Finn and Miz after a Coup de Grace on Miz to secure the Architect’s first IC title. We can debate whether that was the right call, but in the end, it was a pretty good match that didn’t have any down moments.
