10 Ups And 13 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 35

11. A Waste Of Cena

Ever since Baron Corbin was announced as Kurt Angle’s final opponent, fans have been clamoring for John Cena to replace him. But it was not to be.

Fast-forward to WrestleMania, and lo and behold, Cena was indeed available Sunday night, and he did show up at MetLife Stadium, but it wasn’t to compete against Angle. No, Cena came out in his throwback persona, the Doctor of Thugonomics, to interrupt and beat up Elias.

Because when you think of what to do with John Cena at WrestleMania, that’s what you come up with. That’s not to say that his put-downs of Elias weren’t great and it was fun seeing him turn back the clock a bit, but knowing where he could have been used made this annoying.

And look, someone is probably saying that Cena likely has a movie he’s working on and couldn’t wrestle a match. But then don’t bring him out like this at all. Don’t tease him out there like this, only for him to be used for something pointless.
