No one was expecting Kevin Owens versus Shane McMahon to be a technical masterpiece… or even a good wrestling match. The question was whether they could do a bout that entertained without making KO look like a fool taking a bunch of offense from Shane.

They succeed in large part due to Elias being named outside enforcer for the match, with the troubadour gleefully interfering: tripping Owens, blocking KO from getting to McMahon, distracting the in-ring ref from making a count after a Pop-Up Powerbomb, and pulling the ref out after a frogsplash.

This allowed Owens to be in control for much of the match but unable to put it away. And that was what was needed here, because we were going to get KO demolishing Shane in 30 seconds, which is what we should have gotten if there was poetic justice.

But we should take what we got and be happy with it, so we will. Owens won, vanquishing Shane-O-Mac via Stunner. Good night, Boy Wonder.
