10 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Jan 4)
5. New Days New Sparring Partner
Did anyone else after listening to the banter Monday suddenly want Chris Jericho to team up with his fellow former Attitude Era mates the Dudley Boyz in battling the New Day? Sure, Y2J was merely running through his usual shtick, but playing it off of a new group and one that is pretty good at handling themselves on the mic and with reactions made it entertaining. New Day is extremely entertaining on the mic. Just when you think theyre getting weird or boring, they pull out some decent stuff to engage the crowd. This time, however, they were interrupted by a returning Chris Jericho, who proceeded to put down the New Day while using his normal material. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rEdeJMhkxI Provided that he doesnt fall back on the same routine each week, Jericho could be a fun foil for New Day. Teaming with the Dudleys for six-man action or even finding a tag partner for a week (Neville? Kalisto?) would keep things fresh and give New Day someone else to spar against. And really, no tag team has been able to match the trio on the mic, so that would be a fun dynamic.
