10 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Extreme Rules 2019

6. Tag Team Clinic

Fans must have been worn out by the opening match Sunday night, because The Revival and The Usos put on a pretty good Raw Tag Team Championship bout in the second contest of the PPV.

Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder’s usual tactics of cutting off the ring were in full effect, but fans were mostly quiet – though never seemingly bored – save for when the Usos chanted. They really came to life when the referee missed a tag to Jimmy Uso, sending fans into a frenzy and a “Ref you suck!” chant, to which Dash & Dawson bowed.

Revival continued with their tag team clinic, hitting a Power Plex for a near-fall, with Jimmy saving with a splash of his own. But Dash & Dawson managed to overcome a series of superkicks to hit a Shatter Machine to retain their titles.

If the tag division was booked better, matches like these likely would get a much better reaction. But when a feud is partly based on junior high pranks (which thankfully seem to be well in the rear-view mirror), it’s tough to get fans fired up.
