10 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Extreme Rules 2019

3. Stone Cold Kevin Owens

Well, they gave Kevin Owens the Stunner as a finisher, so it’s only fitting that he’s now turning into “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

KO wiped out Dolph Ziggler in less than 20 seconds Sunday night, hitting a Stunner almost immediately for the pin, hopefully putting this mini-feud to bed. Owens then grabbed a mic and continued his rant at Shane McMahon from SmackDown, laying into the blue brand commissioner for hogging TV time.

This new persona for Owens could work really, really well if it’s allowed to breathe and continue. KO has been under-utilized in recent years, and the crowd reaction to him shows that there’s clearly a market there for him as the anti-hero, an area where WWE has fallen short for years.

Just don’t have Owens drinking Molson Light on SmackDown this week, OK?
