10 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (April 5)

1. An Empire Of Boos

WWE has declared that we are in a new era, the Roman Empire, of course. This comes on the heels of a massive boo-fest at WrestleMania, and the reaction Monday at Raw was decidedly worse.

Roman Reigns was booed mercilessly during his entire segment. That might explain why his participation was kept mercifully short, throwing down the gauntlet quickly for any challenger €“ and he promptly got four. But the fact that he was heartily booed while the other four were cheered should continue to give WWE pause. Reigns is not that over with the fans. WWE can delude itself into thinking that he gets a John Cena-like reaction, but Roman gets nowhere near the positive reaction that Cena does.

It didn€™t make Roman any more popular with fans when he waved off Sami Zayn and later speared Chris Jericho unprompted. He actually looked a little like a jerk for that.WWE needs to figure out what they€™re going to do with Roman if he continues to get booed like this. The United Kingdom tour is coming up soon, and it€™s doubtful that he€™s going to get a much warmer reception there.
