The moment Mick Foley announced the name of the new Raw “world” title, you had to believe it wasn’t going to go over well. Universal Championship? What’s next, Galaxy Tag Team Championships for SmackDown?

Thankfully, the wonderful fans in the Barclays Center let WWE know just how they feel about the title, especially the design, which is extremely similar to the WWE World Championship and the Women’s Championship, only with a red strap. Fans immediately booed the title, then broke into a series of chants: “That belt sucks!” to both “New Day rocks!” and John Cena’s theme song; “That belt’s stupid!” as if it were Sheamus; and “Hey, we want some new belt!” which they’d normally chant for Bayley.

Fans managed to get this out during lulls in the title match, and they remembered to boo tremendously whenever the belt was shown on screen. Fantastic.
