Regardless of what’s happening on Raw and SmackDown and the criticisms facing WWE with declining ratings, the cruiserweights exist in a different universe of sorts, so all they could do was handle their business.

And that’s what Buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander did Sunday night on the TLC kickoff show. The two battled over Murphy’s Cruiserweight Championship, firing off several flurries of high-octane offense, with Alexander at one point hitting his Lumbar Check, only for Buddy to be saved by the ropes.

In the end, Murphy pulled off the win, and it was a pretty good display for the division, if a bit short and rushed. Still, the match reminded us that the cruiserweights are still chugging along, and can put together entertaining bouts without all the “entertainment.”
