It’s obvious that WWE has big plans for Drew McIntyre, but if there was anyone who could afford to lose a match like he did Sunday night, it was Drew.

The Scottish Terminator battled Finn Balor in a competitive match in which Balor attacked Drew’s knee, and McIntyre using his power to beat Finn down. Although WWE loves its “David versus Goliath” matches, this didn’t feel like Balor was a little guy fighting a giant, but simply a wrestler who was battling a bigger opponent.

A nice moment came when Balor channeled fellow countryman Fit Finlay and trapped McIntyre in the apron skirt and pummeled him… only for McIntyre to escape and spike Finn on the apron.

And while Finn won with unwanted assistance from McIntyre, it still goes down as a victory for him, while McIntyre can quickly recover from the loss and continue on his path.
