Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles are two of the best wrestlers in WWE, so it’s only natural that you’d expect something really good from the two of them in a match between them.

And we got something pretty damn good Sunday night. No, it wasn’t a classic, but Bryan and Styles told a really good story throughout their match, with AJ’s ribs and Daniel’s leg being the stories of the contest.

Bryan’s evolution as a heel has been interesting to watch, even just in small bursts (as this writer doesn’t recap SmackDown). But he’s clearly doing something right, pissing off the fans for turning his back on them, while Styles is playing the aggrieved former champ well.

The finish, with Bryan reversing a small package into one of his own, was a nice touch, giving the champ a victory without damaging his opponent’s standing. He just was better this night.
