3. Rousey Impresses Once Again

This is getting to become a regular statement in PPV recaps: Ronda Rousey delivered once again Sunday night.

Rousey battled Nia Jax in a heavy-hitting match for the Raw Women’s Championship, with Ronda using her speed and submission prowess to counter Nia’s strength and size. Whereas their first meeting at Money in the Bank over-delivered because it was Rousey’s first singles match and there was enough protection in place, this was a straight-up fight.

Ronda grabbed a guillotine, which Nia turned into a suplex, which Rousey escaped into a reverse chinlock. The Rowdy One hit a crossbody dive to the floor, but then got greedy and tried it in the ring, only for Jax to roll through and hit a Samoan Drop for a two count. And Rousey then countered Nia’s attempted super Samoan Drop with a sunset bomb.

Tamina tried to get involved, but she didn’t factor into the finish, other than Rousey making sure to look at her when she locked in the armbar for the submission victory.

Rousey still has a ways to go to be a complete wrestler, but she is doing really, really well when she’s given the stage. Let’s just hope she’s getting the background training to do all the little things well.
