10 Vicious Wrestling Brawls Nobody Talks About

2. Ric Flair Vs. The Big Show (WWE ECW, 11/7/2006)

Stop and process the idea of NWA/WCW great Ric Flair wrestling in an 'Extreme Rules' Match on a show branded by WWE as Extreme Championship Wrestling and you'll likely go mad. Add in The Big Show as Flair's opponent and original ECW purists may have pitchforks at the ready.

Sadly for the gaggle of angry 'E-C-DUBYA' supporters, no amount of hatred for WWE's watered-down version of Paul Heyman's vision can alter the fact Flair vs. Big Show worked a treat between the ropes and in front of an audience that still harboured belief Vince McMahon might vindicate their beloved promotion.

Shedding buckets of blood and bumping around the ring for his giant foe, the crafty Flair was in his element as an underdog who tried everything in his power to take down Big Show. For his part, Show came across like an unstoppable machine, and the outcome was one hell of a match.

The WWE Network hasn't added latter day 'ECW' content quite yet, and that's a negative when realising matches like this aren't readily available.
