10 Vicious Wrestling Brawls Nobody Talks About

8. Hardcore Hak Vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (WCW Spring Stampede 1999)

As much as both WCW and (later) WWE tried, The Sandman was never really suited to mainstream companies that favoured crystal-clear production values over the rougher, grimy feel of the original ECW. That was Sandman's spiritual home, which is probably why his short run in Atlanta has been forgotten by many.

Taking his natural place as part of WCW's fledgling Hardcore division, the renamed Hardcore Hak was in his element when flinging weapons around the ring with guys like Bam Bam Bigelow. At Spring Stampede 1999, both men delivered exactly what was asked of them.

Following on from a blistering high-flyer between Juventus Guerrera and Blitzkrieg, the brawling duo offered up something entirely different by bashing one another with kendo sticks, trash cans and pretty much anything else they could find.

Psychology be damned, this is nothing but fun, and a great reminder that sometimes you just want to see wrestlers beat the hell out of each other without the need for star ratings, chain wrestling, or even any resemblance to basic holds whatsoever.
