5. Two Shows With Different Identities
The key to a successful brand split is fostering different identities for each show. This encompasses everything from the theme music and the logos to the sets and colour schemes all the way to the announcers calling the show. Back in the 2002-2012 days of split rosters, the shows did look different and at times felt different, but there was more that could have been done to distinguish the two of them and make them feel like different companies. While it's OK to have recap videos for RAW, it would be better if the SmackDown announcers weren't plugging the upcoming RAW and the other way around, if they want it to feel like two different brands, there has to be a cut of ties between each. The only similarity should be the WWE logo and nothing more.
