10 Ways Great Balls Of Fire Can Be WWE's Best Show Of The Year

1. Samoa Joe: Universal Champion

Samoa Joe vs. Brock Lesnar has been the most enjoyable WWE main event program in months. 'The Beast' adds tons of prestige to the Universal Title, and Joe is the best thing in the company at the moment. The former NXT Champion has never been so compellingly ruthless, and while his athleticism has declined, his character work is outstanding.

GBOF’s main event should be an all out war. They’re both among the company's hardest hitters, and given how physical and intense their feud has been, there’s no reason to believe they won’t tear each other apart.

Lesnar will of course be the favourite. It’d be a huge surprise if he didn’t walk out with the belt, but if WWE really want to get the fanbase buzzing, they’ll pull the upset. Nobody expects Joe to triumph at the weekend, but he’s currently producing some of the most engaging work of his career. They’ve minted him as a main eventer and he absolutely deserves the spot, so why not pull the trigger?

If Great Balls Of Fire is to be WWE’s show of the year, the company need to be bold. No booking decision would be braver than making Samoa Joe the Universal Champion, and given the strength of his recent performances, there’s no doubt he’d excel in the role.
