10 Ways MMA Has Influenced Modern WWE

7. Fight Shorts

These haven't caught on just yet  - but they could.

Since his return to the WWE, Brock Lesnar has taken to wearing his fight shorts - MMA style, pretty much what he wore in the UFC - in the squared circle. And while it's not a huge deal, it's another subtle reminder that this man is different. This man was once the UFC heavyweight champion of the world - in other words, the baddest dude on the planet.

Frankly, it's a welcome change from the usual wrestling tights, and it doesn't seem to hinder Lesnar's freakish athletic ability any. Now, will any other WWE stars follow suit? Ken Shamrock went to tights when he joined the WWE, but technically he was a wrestler first. Lashley, who wrestled first, doesn't wear fight shorts in TNA. However, if future stars do cross over, keep an eye out for them hanging onto their old fight apparel. In the reality era, it's a reminder of their heritage, so to speak.
