The Money In The Bank briefcase is supposed to be one of WWE's foremost excitement generators, and it can be that when booked correctly. Dean Ambrose's 2016 victory and near-immediate cash-in ended that years show on a jolt of excitement, but the past two years have stunk, with Baron Corbin failing miserably in his guest to take Jinder Mahal's WWE Championship, and Braun Strowman making a colossal tit of himself by losing his cash-in bout via no-contest.

This makes it imperative that WWE get the match right in 2019. That means crowning a popular babyface who can use the contract on the same evening, or an effective heel that can chase and tease over a prolonged period. Not Baron Corbin again. Please, for the love of God, not Baron Corbin again.

While most of the other participants could would be acceptable alternatives, Sami Zayn is the guy. His gloriously obnoxious heel character is perfect for the role, and seizing it via opportunistic means after someone like Ricochet or Finn Balor has done the heavy lifting would generate immense heat, and a satisfying conclusion.
