10 Ways NXT Is Making WWE Look Bad

10. A Variety Of Characters

WWE.comWWE.comOne of the biggest complaints of World Wrestling Entertainment is the lack of defined characters that populate its midcard. Most of those men are interchangeable. They are nameless, faceless and can be easily replaced when the time comes. What are the Miz's motivations? What makes Big E tick? Outside of being a Paul Heyman Guy, what exactly is Cesaro? There are far more questions than answers and therein lies the problem. That is not the case in NXT. The Superstars there are given personalities and characters that set them apart from everyone else on the roster. Whether it is the exotic party-goer Adam Rose, "The Artiste" Aiden English or the runway model extraordinaire Tyler Breeze, NXT touts a character for every member of the audience. Mojo Rawley is great for kids, Bayley is a fine role model for the young ladies in the crowd and Corey Graves appeals to the rebellious teens and young adults. Any show that can produce such diverse and different characters while making them all fit in the landscape it has built for them is impressive. NXT achieves that each and every week. If WWE Creative took the initiative and put even the slightest bit of focus on the midcard stars, Raw and SmackDown would be much more engaging and interesting than they already are. It would also help guys and girls get over more than they ever have been. As it stands now, though, the ability of Triple H and the rest of the NXT management to work with the talent in developing and evolving characters and personas that grab the audience's attention has helped the brand's weekly television program become superior to WWE in that field.
