10 Ways SmackDown Can Save WWE

5. Mysterio Family Drama? Must Be Monday!

Seth Rollins
WWE

The eventual turn on Father from Son has been in the works since the day Dominik Mysterio revealed himself to be more than just an active fan of his Dad in 2019.

Mysterio's short but electric programme with Brock Lesnar revealed an athletic side to his progeny, and that extended to something permanent in 2020 after a well-received debut for the second generation star against Seth Rollins.

It's not been super smooth sailing since then, but this has at least allowed fantasy bookers to speculate on the end of the line between the two. The size differential alone has already provided the visual and the clue - Dominik hoisted Rey on his shoulders two years ago, creating the perfect moment to revisit when the company pull the trigger on the turn.

The point of mentioning all this now is that it's genuinely simmering - the poor lad's getting badgered by his Da every week despite a decent run of results before this manufactured losing streak. The ex-SmackDown Tag Team Champions are creeping ever closer to implosion...so draft them to Raw where there's time fill and boredom to be addressed.
