10 Ways The Move To TV Has Ruined WWE NXT

5. Less Focus On The Cruiserweights

When the main focus for the cruiserweight division switched from the afterthought known as 205 Live to NXT, you would have been right to get excited by the prospect.

While the post-SmackDown show delivered some bangers in the past (hello, Murphy vs. Mustafa Ali), it did little to nothing to help build the division into what it should've been. The cruiserweights' time spent on Raw came to an end in early 2018 when they had a rebirth of sorts, but again, nothing really changed.

Unfortunately, the same can be said for the division's time spent on NXT.

The matches have been decent for the most part, and we've seen a plethora of new stars added, such as Jake Atlas, former 205 Live general manager Drake Maverick, and current champion Santos Escobar. However, a division needs to be built properly in order to make a lasting impact, as we've previously discussed in an earlier point. You could argue we're being too harsh, considering the cruiserweight only made this jump less than a year ago, but even then, it's more than enough time.

If we're being honest, the only properly good thing we've gotten thus far is the retribution story of the aforementioned Drake Maverick. Nearly a full calendar year, and only one notable story? They could do better.
