10 Ways To Add More Sizzle To WWE SmackDown

3. Bigger Angles and Moments

The lack of hugely memorable angles and moments is something that has plagued SmackDown dating all the way back to its inception in August 1999. Even then, the most important advancement, angles and moments were typically saved for the flagship show on Monday nights. While it is understandable that the company would want to save the most important developments for its most visible product, allowing SmackDown to have some memorable moments would only increase the value of the show. Remember when Brock Lesnar and Big Show broke the ring? How about when Steve Austin blew up the DX Express in 2000? Neither really had any long-lasting effects on either of the storylines they occurred in but it did leave fans with their jaws dropped and excited for the next week's show. SmackDown is the last show fans see each week. Would it not make sense for the company to leave a lasting impression on the fans, to make them anticipate the events that will unfold the following week? What better way to do just that than by introducing an unexpected moment or angle that would cause the viewer to sit up, take notice, and suggest to their friends that they watch the show the next week?
