10 Ways To Fix WWE's Universal Title

2. Reinstate Finn Balor

Finn Balor’s return date remains up in the air. The popular Irishman has appeared for Scotland’s ICW and Ireland’s OTT over the past couple of months, and even engaged in a brief physical spot on ICW’s biggest show of the year. The man himself has said he’s aiming for a WrestleMania return, but there are strong suggestions that his shoulder has healed ahead of time, and he might return as soon as the Royal Rumble.

Whenever Balor comes back, it’s only right to immediately reinstate him to the Universal Title scene. He fought through immense pain to overcome Seth Rollins for the belt at SummerSlam, and never lost it in the first place. Raw’s authority figures were forced to strip Balor of his championship, and when he re-emerges, he deserves an immediate shot at redemption.

Anything else would be nonsensical. Balor quickly became Raw’s biggest babyface upon debuting, and his return will likely elicit one of the biggest pops of 2017. At a time when WWE fans are crying out for legitimate good guys to root for, Balor is one of the most altruistic characters in the company. He doesn’t have to win the Universal Title so soon after returning, but he should at least have the opportunity, and his presence will go a long way to fixing Raw’s off-kilter face/heel alignment scale.
