10 Ways To Fix WWE's Universal Title

1. Let It Headline WrestleMania

Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg is the only match that’s been officially announced for WrestleMania 33 thus far, though Triple H vs. Seth Rollins and Big Show vs. Shaquille O’Neal look like dead certs. Brock and Goldberg are the immediate favourites to take the headlining spot, but the show is still three months away, and the main event is still very much up for grabs.

Lesnar vs. Goldberg makes sense. It’s WWE’s most important feud at the moment, and it pits the company’s strongest babyface against their biggest special attraction. The match might not be all that good, but it’ll put butts in seats, and that’s what really matters.

There’s a chance that the WWE Championship match could take the spot, particularly if WWE deliver on the rumoured John Cena vs. The Undertaker showdown, and who knows, maybe nepotism will conquer all, and The Game vs. Rollins will close the show. Despite these options, if WWE are really serious about making the Universal Title something worth fighting for, they’ll allow it to close the biggest show of the year.

Putting the Universal Title match on last would show the world that this isn’t just the most important prize in wrestling, but the most important match. It’d take a near perfect build, a strong champion, and an outstanding challenger to get there, but pulling this off would be a huge boon for the Universal Title. A gutsy move, but one that would go a long way to establishing the young belt’s prestige.
