10 Ways To Re-Brand WWE SmackDown

7. Royal Rumble And King Of The Ring Qualifiers On The Show

When WWE brought back the King of the Ring concept in 2015, all the first round matches took place on RAW. SmackDown, again, saw none of the action which hurt the importance of the show. When WWE start the tournament to crown a new KOTR in 2016, it would be wise to share the opening round matches between RAW and SmackDown. The roster is big enough to do a 16 man tournament with four first round matches on RAW and four on SmackDown followed by two Quarter Finals on the next weeks RAW and the final two on SmackDown before the special on the WWE Network with the final 4 participants. This allows WWE to show footage on RAW of the qualifiers from SmackDown and give fans another reason to re-consider tuning in on Thursday nights. To make things even more interesting, it'd be nice to see a few Royal Rumble qualifier matches exclusive to SmackDown. You could bring in some legends, some NXT stars and some regular roster members and allow them to battle it out for a spot in the Rumble and a chance to go on and headline WrestleMania.
