The WCW midcard was a stunning collection of talented wrestlers, a group that did what every good midcard is supposed to do; maintain the interest level until it was time for the main event, and they did it well. The midcard actually had some pretty compelling story lines to work with, as well, including an oddly fascinating program between Johnny B. Badd and DDP over the Diamond Doll. They were little things, but they helped sell the idea that the midcard was just as important as the main event. Perhaps the biggest and most exciting part of the WCW midcard was the rise of Goldberg, who was a rocket that burned so fast it was unbelievable. The booking of Goldberg was perfect, as he exemplified exactly what fans wanted to see; a tough guy who comes out and destroys everyone. He was a character that WWE didn't have a clue what to do with, but was used to near perfection in WCW.
