10 Ways WrestleMania 36 Will Shape WWE’s Future

9. A Little Discourage

New reports this week suggest that WWE is considering shutting up shop for a few weeks after WrestleMania 36 goes off the air. Its hand may have been forced by a statewide stay-at-home order issued by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and while we know the promotion has taped enough content to cover the 6 April episode of Raw, said footage would likely be kept on ice in the event of a temporary shutdown.

While the stay-at-home order likely supersedes everything else, a WrestleMania peppered with intended big moments that don't resonate because they're playing out to silence may discourage WWE further. Their (seemingly inevitable) hiatus may be expedited and they may be less inclined to emerge from that slumber if it means more empty arena shows, opting against a comeback until it starts showing on the bottom line, it becomes possible for them to hold events in packed buildings again, or both.

It goes without saying that a "big" WrestleMania moment won't resonate like it would be a football stadium. Let's see how WWE react to that, or if they even try to create them at all.
