10 Ways Wrestlers Got Out Of WWE Contracts
1. No Selling
Occasionally, WWE talent becomes so disheartened with the direction they're being pushed towards, that their desire for departure becomes apparent for all to see... literally everybody.
You can no-show, you can pipebomb, and you may even find yourself still with a job after doing these things. Or you can perform a blatant no-sell on a prime time show. There's pretty much no coming back from that one. This was the case with Hercules Hernandez, who had become increasingly frustrated at jobbing out to other wrestlers during his early 90s WWE tenure.
After a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance at the Royal Rumble match back in 1992, Hernandez's last WWE match was at Madison Square Garden on Feb 23 of the same year, where he faced off against Sid Justice.
At the conclusion of a squash match lasting just over 20 seconds, Sid power-bombed Hernandez and got the three count. The instant Sid released the victorious pin, Hercules casually stood up, left the ring, and clocked out, never to be seen in WWE again. What a way to break the illusion. He did however, make his point loud and clear, and on company time too.
