5. Push Female Talent Seriously

Push Female Talent Seriously

Wrestling, and a lot action oriented media, has always flourished by appealing to boys and then incidentally a few girls who would characterise as ‘tomboys’. In 2019, this is not the case. More than ever, young females have role models who kick ass and get to play the hero roles that were previously reserved for big strong men. Young girls have gone from being damsels in distress to strong, autonomous heroes in their own stories.

We only need to look to the success of the numerous female stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the success of Wonder Woman and Jessica Jones, to see that, shockingly, audiences will watch women as action leads. The world has changed and there is now an entire generation of young girls, and boys, who want to see women being badasses on their screens, and WWE has a whole roster of badass females they can showcase.

Not only that, but there are many on the female roster who deserve a push regardless of gender. This isn't the Divas era anymore, where Johnny Ace would literally hire female wrestlers out of swimsuit catalogues. These women are high level athletes and entertainers, and are putting out world class match quality any fan would be excited to watch. Every year we are discovering more talented female wrestlers.
