10 Ways WWE Can Improve Its Product In 2017

9. Create Different Babyface Characters

Vince Mcmahon Celebration

Part of that history includes some truly memorable babyfaces. Today, WWE seemingly uses the same template - an incredibly outdated one - to create faces fans will hopefully support. Categorically, Vince McMahon fails miserably at this even when he's gifted an already-over protagonist, either from NXT or elsewhere.

Quick, who is the most popular (read: cheered and supported) superstar in WWE today?

Nakamura? He was 100 times hotter in his NXT debut than now. Kevin Owens? He's a heel. Lesnar? Another heel. Finn Bálor? Again, hotter 18 months ago. Bayley? See Nakamura/Bálor. AJ Styles? Maybe.

Gone are the days of multiple, unique, babyfaces like Hogan, Warrior, Piper, and Jake Roberts. Hell, even during WWE's most financially disastrous year ever (1995), Bret, Shawn, Undertaker, and Razor were all very over.

Isn't it saying something that despite McMahon booking half his roster to be popular, so few actually are? It says even more that there isn't one WWE talent today who is better off now than they were at some point in the past, from a popularity perspective. I fear for Asuka just as I did for Bayley.

WWE used to make talents better, but in 2017, Vince paints everyone with the same brush. It's rarely gallery-worthy.
