10 Ways WWE Can Make Live Events Matter Again

7. Imitate RAW And SmackDown's Structure

WWE LIVE CHANGES

If you've been watching RAW and SmackDown long enough, you'll know the structure of each show fairly well. They kick off with a promo and then another usually at the top of every additional hour. It makes WWE's shows feel formulaic to some extent, but live events would benefit from borrowing from that familiar format.

House shows will sometimes feature pre-recorded backstage promos to tease matches for later on in the night, but that's about it. Promos from Superstars are rare, and even for the most hardcore wrestling fans, a stream of matches one after the other doesn't always make for exciting viewing (especially when there's an awful lot of filler).

Bringing storylines into the mix - regardless of whether they tie into WWE's weekly shows or are somewhat standalone in nature - would be hugely beneficial in the long run as it gets fans more invested in what they're seeing. WWE could also ditch the scripts and give Superstars the chance to be themselves, a decision which might pay off big time as it allows them to hone their skills and improve their performances on television from week to week.
